Many composite installers use a standard plastic clip between boards — and while it keeps screws out of sight, plastic clips can be inconsistent. If a clip isn't seated evenly on both sides, the spacing gap shows across the deck. Once the boards are down, it's too late to fix.
We use the Fast Clip — a metal fastening clip with a stainless steel gusset that grips the deck board firmly as it's screwed down, while the joist hook locks in place. The result: a perfectly uniform 5mm gap between every board, on every joist, across the full length of the deck. Tight, even, and built to stay that way.

Our composite decking products carry a 25-year residential warranty against fading, staining and structural failure. When installed correctly over a properly engineered substructure, you can realistically expect the deck to outlast that warranty — timber simply cannot match this lifespan without significant ongoing maintenance.
All composite decking absorbs some heat in direct sun — it's a characteristic of the material. Our co-extrusion boards use a lighter-coloured protective coating that reduces surface temperature compared to older-generation composites. In Melbourne's climate, the boards are comfortably walkable in most conditions. Lighter colour choices perform best in full-sun installations, and shade from a pergola above makes a significant difference.
The collections differ primarily in surface texture depth, colour range and finish quality. The Deluxe is our finest-looking board — deep embossed grain, the widest palette, and the best finish. Premium delivers excellent quality at a slightly lower tier. Classic is a reliable entry-level option. Coastal is specifically engineered for salt-air environments near the coast. All collections are installed to exactly the same structural standard — the EBS applies to every project regardless of which collection you choose.
It depends on the deck's height, size and proximity to your property boundary. In Victoria, many ground-level decks under a certain height are exempt from a building permit, but anything above 800mm from ground level or attached to the dwelling typically requires one. We assess permit requirements as part of every site visit and handle the relevant paperwork where needed — it's part of the job, not an add-on.
Yes — composite is one of the best materials for pool surrounds. It won't absorb water, won't rot when consistently wet, and doesn't require the chemical treatments that timber needs in pool environments. Our boards also have a textured, non-slip surface which is an important safety consideration for wet areas. Pool surround installations may have specific slip-resistance requirements — we check this as part of the site assessment.
The Elevated Build Standard™ is the construction methodology we apply to every project. It covers substructure requirements (laminated framing, joist protection tape, correct bearer spacing), board installation (Fast Clip concealed fixing, precise gap control), and finishing (fascia, edging, edge detail). Most of this work is structural and invisible once the deck is down — but it's exactly what determines whether your deck still looks and performs perfectly in fifteen years.

Ground Level vs Elevated
A ground-level deck costs less than an elevated one — elevated builds require deeper footings, more structural steel, and greater engineering time. The higher the deck, the more significant this cost factor becomes.
Materials & Decking Range
Entry-level composite boards, mid-range profiles, and premium wide-board ranges all have different price points. We'll show you the options on-site so you can choose what fits your budget and aesthetic.
Stairs & Level Changes
Stairs, landings, and level changes are priced separately from the main deck area — they involve additional structural work and finishing. The number of risers and the width of the staircase both affect the cost.
Picture Frame Borders
A picture-frame border adds a premium finish around the perimeter of the deck. It's one of the most popular upgrade options — and it adds to the cost because it requires more precise cutting, mitre joints, and additional boards.
Site Conditions & Access
Difficult site access, steep slopes, rocky or unstable ground, or the need to remove existing structures all affect how long a job takes — and therefore what it costs. This is why we visit every site before quoting.
Size & Complexity
Larger decks have a lower cost per square metre than small ones. Irregular shapes, built-in seating, lighting channels, or integrated planters all add to the complexity and time involved in the build.
