Feature Walls & Privacy Screens

One tough grooved composite board — used two ways. Whether it's making a wall the centrepiece of your outdoor space or hiding what you don't want to see, the result is low-maintenance, long-lasting and finished to look intentional.

Feature Wall

Cladding as the hero of the space — grooved boards installed on the exterior wall behind your deck, bar or dining area. The texture catches the light and gives the area a finished, architectural feel. Like an outdoor room rather than a backyard.

Privacy Screen

The same boards used to solve a problem — screening a side passage, bins, a water tank or a neighbour's window. Clean lines that give you separation and privacy while still reading as a design choice, not a fence.

We bring physical cladding samples to your free site visit so you can see the texture and colour in your own light before committing.

Cladding & Screens — Melbourne Projects

Available in Seven Colours

From warm timber tones to crisp neutrals — screen swatches never do composite justice. We bring physical boards to your site visit.

Colours range from warm timber tones (Teak, Walnut, Spotted Gum) through to crisp neutrals (White, Ivory, Smoke Grey, Black).

Our Heidelberg feature wall is Smoke Grey. Our Newport screens are White. Both are installed in exactly the same way — the board is the board. You can also browse the full cladding range online before your site visit.

Corner Trim & Finishing Pieces

Composite cladding corner trim conceals edges at external corners for a seamless, professional installation. Every detail — inside corners, window surrounds and exposed edges — finished to the same standard as the rest of the facade.

Elevated Build Standard™

The Installation Details That Determine How It Looks in 15 Years

Composite cladding boards are only as good as the frame behind them. Boards fixed to poorly spaced, unchecked framing will show movement, gaps and misalignment within a few seasons. The Elevated Build Standard™ addresses this before a single board goes up.

Most of this work is invisible once the cladding is installed — but it's exactly what you're paying for when you choose a builder who takes the job seriously.

Framing Checked for Level & Plumb Every frame is checked before any board is fixed. Cladding cannot fix a frame that isn't level — it amplifies it.
Correct Batten Spacing Batten centres are set to the board manufacturer's specifications — not guessed. This prevents sagging and maintains the board gap through seasonal temperature change.
Flush Fixing & Edge Detail Fixings are flush and consistent. Cut ends are treated. Corner trim, window surrounds and edge caps are fitted — not left as raw board ends.
Moisture Management Ventilation gaps are maintained behind boards where required. Water can't sit against the substrate — the structure behind the cladding is protected.

Cladding Works Best Alongside a New Deck

The majority of our cladding installations happen as part of a broader outdoor build — a composite deck with a feature wall behind it, or privacy screens alongside new paving. When it's all done at once, levels and finishes are coordinated from the start.

Cladding & Screens FAQ

The questions Melbourne homeowners most often ask before committing to cladding. If yours isn't here, call or email — we're happy to talk it through.

Both use the same composite board — the difference is the job they do. A feature wall is a design statement: grooved boards installed on an exterior wall to create a timber-look backdrop for a deck, dining area or outdoor kitchen. A privacy screen solves a practical problem — hiding a side passage, bins, water tank, pool equipment or a neighbour's window. Same board, two applications, both with a 25-year warranty.

No — composite cladding boards are a finished product. They do not need painting, staining, oiling or sealing at installation or at any point during their life. This is the fundamental difference from timber cladding, which requires regular maintenance to prevent warping, cracking and fading. Composite boards are UV-stabilised and moisture-resistant by design. An occasional wash with mild soapy water is all the maintenance required.

The cladding boards are available in seven colours: Teak, Walnut and Spotted Gum (warm timber tones), and White, Ivory, Smoke Grey and Black (crisp neutrals). Our Heidelberg feature wall is Smoke Grey; our Newport screens are White. Screen swatches and online images never do composite justice — the best way to choose is with a real board in your hand. We bring physical cladding samples to every free site visit.

Yes — the composite grooved boards work in both orientations. Horizontal installation gives a classic weatherboard look; vertical boards create a more contemporary, elongated feel. The choice usually comes down to the wall proportions, the style of the home, and what you want to emphasise visually. We'll discuss the options during your free site visit and can show you examples of both approaches in real projects.

Yes — composite cladding handles Melbourne's variable climate well. The boards are UV-stabilised for summer heat and moisture-resistant for our wet winters. Unlike timber, they won't swell, warp or crack with seasonal changes. The 25-year residential warranty covers fading and structural failure across all standard Melbourne climate conditions, giving you long-term peace of mind.
